More Chicago!

Our visit on the way home to see our friends Kara and Luke. Zion was fast buddies with their kids Silas and Lila and can't wait to see them again.

Running around Moody where Reba went to school for part of college and Uncle Doug graduated.

At the moody arches.

Her first time throwing money in a fountain. Then every fountain we saw she thought she needed to contribute too.

We made a stop to check out the American Girl store one evening which was close to our hote. Totally insane, these dolls and all their accessories. It was packed which was also crazy but Zion had fun playing with them IN the store.

The John Hancock building.

We took Zion into the courtyard of a church on Michigan Avenue where we got enagaged and told her the story. She put a penny in this fountain too.

MMMMMMM.....Chicago style pizza.

Yes that glowing white stuff is ALL cheese.

Chasing squirrels with Travis on their zoo day.

Chicago

I had to go to Chicago to make some visits for work and Travis had off because of the G20 here in downtown Pittsburgh so Travis and Zion got to come with me. We have some better pictures on Tims camera which maybe Travis will put on here. While I was working Travis and Zion spent the day at the zoo. Zions favorite part was riding the public bus to get there. We not only got to spend a little time in Chicago we also got to stop near Indianapolis to visit some friends from Florida that now live there that we miss a lot. Zion had a great time playing with their kids and then we came home. It was a crazy, packed, quick trip but fun. We love Chicago.
A night swim.

My projects

Recently I have not had much time to really decorate our house at all or do any of the projects that I like to do but a couple of weeks ago I actually got this done. I recovered all of our dining room chairs which really needed it and I made a roman shade (with some encouragement from Rachel (-:) I did not think the shade was going to turn out because towards the end I gave up on the directions and did my own thing but I'm pretty happy with it. The fabric is all really good quality fabric that I got at the salvation army fabric sale for a few dollars so it made it worth sewing. Otherwise from what I have seen at the fabric store good fabric for projects like these costs so much you might as well just buy a shade and new chairs for your table. (-; Well almost. Anyways I was excited to accomplish something.

Zions Butterfly

Zion was given a cocoon by one of my friends moms which was so sweet! She LOVED it! We read about butterflies. We did not get to see it actually come out but we came down one morning to find it out and ready to go into the world. Zion was fascinated and just kept saying "oh beautiful butterfly". We acctually have some butterfly plants in front of our house so Travis and Zion planted it on one and then we got to watch it fly away. So fun!
