The first time I have thought Travis looked small!

Well you know Travis is a tall guy at 6' 3'' but next to SHAQ he looks short!!! Travis took a day trip to go see the Cleveland Cavilers play the Orlando Magic...they took my Dad as his Christmas present. Apparently it was fan appreciation day and one row in the stadium got to stay after the game and meet Shaq and they were in that row! How bout that? I guess it made their gift to my dad even better and it was a fun surprise.

Hmmmm....Ant food?

Zion asked me one day recently what ants like to eat so we decided to do an experiment in the back yard. We put out honey, sugar, and water to see what the ants liked best.
I am sure the neighbors behind our yard would think that we were quite strange. Here we are Zion all dressed up...and she tells me that she thinks she can get the ants to come by playing her sliding whistle and singing to them. It was quite hilarious! The results of our experiment did not live up to our hypothesis...Zion thought they would like ths sugar. Sadly we did not stay out long enough to find out what they like because we found that another creature likes honey and sugar as much more more than ants and they travel faster.....BEES....and we all went running inside! We sent Daddy out when he came home later to recover the ant dishes. (-:

Happy Late St. Patricks Day!

Another concoction and tasty treat by Z

MMMMM pink fruit dip...made with yogurt and strawberries and honey.

This is our cool cookbook that has the pictures of what to do. Z can seriously almost do it all by herself.

Garden Attempt Phase 1

So this year we are trying to do a garden for the first time. Tim and Rachel are gardening vetrans so they came and helped us plant some seeds. Zion is a pro. We are excited to see what we get from our garden. So far we planted tomato, lettuce, broccoli, and onion seeds and this weekend we bought some more to plant. Now if I could only remember to keep watering them. We have them set up under a light in the basement so on the days I don't do laundry I tend to forget. )-: But despite by poor care most of them seem to be sprouting up. We will share more of our garden efforts and results as we go along.

Norah 3 Months!

We can't believe our sweet girl is already three months old! The time has seriously flown by. I feel like we just jumped right back into life when she was born and she just fit right in to our family. There is definitely a lot more sleep deprivation with two than one. You can't take those good naps during the day to make up for lack of sleep at night because there is a three year old that needs to be entertained. Norah is a sweet sweet baby but sleeping through the night seems far off for her. At this time Zion was sleeping 6-9 hours per night. Miss Norah still wakes up hungry every 3 hours and she loves to eat. She has gotten better at sleeping during the right times though so at least she is going back to sleep after she eats. She is FULL of smiles now and smiles at all of us and especially at Zion. If she wakes up crying Zion runs to her crib and starts talking to her and Norah gives her the biggest smile...it is so cute to watch them together. Zion is such a great big sister. She is always paying attention to Norah and wants to make sure she is okay. She will go give her pats, sing to her, or giver her a pacifier to make her happy. She also says the sweetest things to her like... "oh Norah you are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen" or "Norah you are SO precious."

Norah has been very strong since she was born and is very good at holding her head up. She loves music and the sound of the vacuum and her pacifier. Zion would spit a pacifier right back out at us or gag on it but Norah is a fan. Norah's only very sad and fussy moments are due to terrible gas. We can tell right away when she starts wailing and screaming. It is so sad. She turns all red and gets sweaty. Some times she is able to get relief if we lift her feet up over her head or bicycling her legs and then she is instantly happy again. We hate seeing her so uncomfortable. The doctor says its "normal" but I am still worried about it. Other than that shes doing great. We have so much fun with our two precious girls. Norah is getting so big and chubby already and I know the time will keep going by fast so I am trying to soak some of it in.

Ballerinas

Zion is LOVING her ballet class and her ballet buddies. She wishes that we could go every day. Her teacher is awesome, so sweet, and she runs the dance ministry at my parents church so I was so excited to find out she was Z's teacher. Norah and I love hanging out and waiting for her and in May we actually get to observe her class.
