Norah as her own room!

This was originally our room but Travis and I decided to make the move to the 3rd floor. For awhile I was afraid to move up there and be that far away from the girls but thanks to the technology of baby monitors Travis convinced me. Before this Norahs "room" was on the landing to the 3rd floor but there was no room for all her stuff and it was getting frustrating dealing with the clutter. We had a lot of fun doing her room together late at night and love how it turned out because its very cheery and just makes us happy. We also did it very inexpensively. The most expensive thing was the paint because we bought the green paint with no fumes so it was about $50 from Benjamin Moore.

I knew I wanted to make a mobile for over her crib. I just spent a few dollars on the wreaths which I spray painted white and Abbey helped me by making the orgami birds. (my patience for oragami is small) I attached them all with invisible thread. Let me just say I love how it turned out but it was not fun to make because well invisible thread is invisible! Norah loves looking at the bright birds.

This hangs over the guest bed on invisible thread. It is simply a branch I stole from my moms yard, painted white with flowers glued on. I got the idea from a Pottery Barn kids catalog.

Over the crib we painted a cute little letter n yellow and surrounded it with cute antique fabrics from the salvation army fabric sale in embroidery hoops from the sale which my mom picked up for us. The curtains were extra ones that match the ones in Z's room that my mom found awhile back at an estate sale. They are from pottery barn.

This white shelf we snagged from our condo when we were down there on vacation. We had left it there on the wall and repurposed it for Norahs room.

Fun at the city Spray Park

Growing Norah!

Miss Norah is starting to eat food. She loves to eat everything we have given her so far. She loves her rice cereal which we started giving to her about a month ago. So far she has tried bananas, apples, sweet potatoes and avocado and she liked them all although the avocado not as much. Avocados were one of Zions favorites but I think Norah thought the texture was weird at first. Its fun watching her try new things and Z is a pro at feeding her its really funny.

Lately Norah seems almost as big as Zion but that does not stop Zion from holding her and giving her lots of snuggles. Norah sure lets Zion know when she does not like something by screaming, pinching her. She also playfully pulls her hair.

Her smiles just make us so happy we can hardly stand it. She has such a happy way about her and her face totally lights up! She loves it when people pay attention to her and she loves silly things. Zion gets plenty of smiles out of her and so does her Dad.

Norah spends all her free happy time on the floor now. She rolls and rolls and is pushing her self way up on her arms. She is also starting to scoot and her find her on the complete opposite side of the big blanket we put her on. She wants to be on the move.

Strawberry Jam

After having lots of fun berry picking we had to agree what to do with all our strawberries. First we made Strawberry Rhubarb Pie and that was great but we still had a ton left. So we all agreed on jam. We had a great time making it and it was much easier than I thought. We spend a lot of time cooking together and Z is a great helper. Lately she has become great at using a butter knife (with supervision of course) and was a great help cutting the strawberries.

Mashing. We just used a potato masher and it worked great!

It was quick fun and easy and it made a lot for us to freeze and share with friends.

Ah! The best part, tasting the results.

To make your own yummy Strawberry jam follow these simple directions:

4 cups crushed strawberries

1 1/2 cups sugar

5 jelly jars or other freezer proof containers

Instant Fruit Pectin

1. Stir sugar and pectin in a bowl

2. Add crushed fruit and stir 3 minutes

3. Ladle jam into clean containers and let stand 30 minutes

4. Enjoy

It keeps in the fridge for three weeks and in the freezer for up to a year.

This recipe was very kid friendly to make and eat and very easy because you don't even have to cook it. You can buy the instant pectin at most grocery stores.

Zion has been taking ballet since January and LOVING it. It was all her idea to do ballet and she had such a great time and made some great buddies in her class. She recently had her last class and we got to go watch. So fun!
